UNNAMED 2638m (WRAGGE PEAK)

Located 2.5 km south of Wragge Lake. It is prominent from New Denver.
The bushwhack down to the west end of Wragge Lake and around the lake is one of the most gnarly in the world. Traversing Wragge Peak might be a good alternative.

Drive: Drive the Shannon Creek FSR (see post) 3.9km and go left to Wragge Creek and the Wragge Creek Recreation Site on the lake. Instead of going down to the lake, bear right uphill toward Wragge Lake. The bridge to the old overgrown road has been removed.

Route/Trail: A 5km overgrown trail ascends to Wragge Lake. Where the trail ends avoid the headwall behind the lake by bushwhacking east. Don’t contour around the lake as the bushwhack is truly horrendous. Head southeast toward a hump and follow it to the east ridge, which is Class 3. The north summit is higher; the summits are only about 15 meters above the col.
Descent: Descend the north face, between the peaks, on snow (heavy snow year) to the tiny lakes east of the northwest ridge (the eastern, bigger lake is only 100 meters across).

About admin

I would like to think of myself as a full time traveler. I have been retired since 2006 and in that time have traveled every winter for four to seven months. The months that I am "home", are often also spent on the road, hiking or kayaking. I hope to present a website that describes my travel along with my hiking and sea kayaking experiences.
