ABOUT

I like to think of myself as a full-time traveller. I retired in 2006 at age 53 with a dream to see the world. Now over eighteen years later, I have lived that dream. I have visited all 193 United Nations countries in the world (the last was Tuvalu in October 2024). I believe I am the most travelled Canadian of all time.
Traveling for several months per year is demanding and I go home to relax, organize my life, and explore North America. It is my vacation.
My passions are walking, sea kayaking, and diving – they allow me to have intimate experiences exploring almost anywhere. Hopefully, this website will give you some ideas of places to go and things to do.
The Ideas page is about my many random thoughts.
Writing Hiking & Climbing the West Kootenay has fulfilled a dream I’ve had for two decades. It was completely updated in 2024 with several new posts and corrections.
