A short loop through a scenic old-growth cedar grove. The trail is closed from October 1st to May 31st as black bears den in the cedar grove over winter.

Drive. From downtown Kaslo, drive 28.6 km on Highway 31A towards New Denver. Turn at the sign for Retallack Lodge. Immediately cross a bridge and park on the right.
Trail: This is a short loop trail through a cedar-spruce ecosystem. An interpretive sign which describes the vegetation and wildlife along the trail is located near the start of the trail. This trail is actively used by bears; large hollow cedar trees have provided den locations in the past.
