This well-built trail climbs Red Mountain from Red Mountain Ski Resort.

Season: mid-May to late October
Drive to Red Mountain Ski Resort and park in one of the huge gravel parking lots. Walk to the bright red ski lift at the base of Red Mountain.
Trail. The trail starts as the Centennial Trail on an old road skirting the bottom of the lift but after 0.3 km, turn left into the woods at the signed junction for Red Top, It switchbacks through the forest intersecting old roads and the black diamond trail called “Red Head”.
2.0 km. Leave the forest as the trail continues around to the south-facing side of Red Mountain where the old mine activity was. Reach a scenic viewpoint. Switch back through open south-facing rocky slopes.
4.0 km. Reach an old cabin called “Poochy’s Inn”.
4.5 km. The summit bench with panoramic views down to Rossland, Trail and all the ski runs on Granite Mountain.
