ON Temporalis Caceros. Took an Uber and the owner waited up for me. Went out for a very good pizza at 10 pm.
Day 8 Mar 29
Left with my pack (avocado toast for breakfast) to see
Iglesia Catedral. Extravagant interior with chapels, a huge altar, all painted with designs and faux marble.
Sacred Art Museum San Francisco Solano. The usual religious art, polychromes, vestments, and religious silver. Free
Tecnopolis Federal (Centro Cultural del Bicentario). Artifacts, devotional and art exhibits in a former government building from the 1600s. Cultural history with skeletons and fossils. Free
Bus to Resistencia overnight

ON Bus from Sandiego del Estero overnight. Slept in the bus depot on arrival.
Day 9 Mar 30
Bus to Formosa. There was no luggage storage in Resistencia Omnibus Terminal, but I was able to leave it in Formosa at the bus company I was returning on.
ARGENTINA – FORMOSA
FORMOSA
The one museum in Formosa was closed. I walked/bussed the 2 km to the main square, bought some milk, walked back through the square and took the bus back to the terminal.
The only nice thing in Formosa was a huge, one-block-long, mosaic covering the wall of a cemetery.
Return to Resistnecia
Monumento a la masacre de Margarita Belén. A lovely monument on the highway. Many copper statues.
Uber to the hostel.
ON El Gran Gomero. A new addition to his personal home. Very nice guy with good information.
Day 10 Mar 30
Walked downtown to get the bus to Corrientes. SUBE card. Very convenient.
ARGENTINA – CORRIENTES
CORRIENTES
General Belgrano Bridge. Over the Parana River, cable stayed in the middle with many piers.
Mural Escultorico Doriant. One block long mural on the side of the off-ramp from the bridge.
Parana Terraces Walkway. Lovely boardwalk along the ocean. The only beach is at the beginning.
Museum of Natural Sciences. On the river and walkway, it is a lovely exhibit with lots of stuffed animals but all in Spanish. Good genus/order/species descriptions.
Provincial Museum of Fine Arts. Argentinian artists in a grand house across the street from the opera house, named after him. Free
Museo Historico de Corrientes. The regional museum with history, ethnography, and many photos. Free
Santa Rita Church. A small single-nave church with pews in the side crosses. With no mass going on, there was a surprisingly large number of people praying.
I took the bus back to Residentia

ARGENTICA – CHACO – RESIDENTIA
Immigration Monument. In a roundabout, a bronze man and woman holding a baby and a sailor? holding a bird all on a ship’s prow. By Eddie Torrie
Museo de las Esculturas Urbanas del Mundo. A two-block exhibit of sculpture, mostly abstract metal and limestone from all over the world.
Casa de la Memoria. Many vignettes and photos from the 1976-83 repression by the police and military with many “disappearances” and torture.
Museum of Man Chaqueño “Professor Ertivio Acosta”
Casa Museo y Sitio Histórico Luis Geraldi
St. Ferdinand the King Cathedral. Small, all white with two bell towers. Closed but then open at 7 pm, lovely stained glass.
There was a large handicraft fair in the park.
Bus to Santa Fe, walked to hostel to store pack
Day 11 Apr 1
I stored my pack and took the day bus to Parana, returning the same day and still able to see most of the sites in Santa Fe. Note the bus lets you off anywhere but can only be gotten at the terminals on each end.
ARGENTINA – ENTRE RIOS (Paraná, Concordia)
Raúl Uranga – Carlos Sylvestre Begnis Subfluvial Tunnel. A long tunnel under the Parana River. As the bus to Santa Fe was via Parana, I went through this tunnel three times.
PARANA
Museo Historica Provincial. Eclectic collection – furniture, artifacts, silver mate cups, Pre-Colombian history.
Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes. Genocide 1976-83 with many photographs. Good art exhibit. Free
Parrochial Catedral Nuestra Senoradel Rosario. On the main square with white grand bell towers all in red paint. Closed at 12 but open at 4.
ARGENTINA – SANTA FE (ROSARIO)
SANTA FE
The square was surrounded by grand colonial buildings.
Basílica de Guadalupe.
Ethnographic Museum Colonial Juan de Garay. In a gorgeous old church. Household, kitchen, agriculture, textiles. Free
El Paso del Papa Francisco. Jesuit history guided. The church was lovely. Free
ON Mucho Bonito Hostel. 25,000 and charged the 21% VAT!! I wrote a bad review.
Day 12 Apr 2
Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes Rosa Galisteo de Rodríguez. Argentinian artists. Free
Museo Municipal de Artes Visuales Sor Josefa Díaz y Clucellas.
Suspended Bridge Eng. Marcial Candioti. A one-way road bridge but mostly for pedestrians, this is an old-fashioned cable-stayed bridge with multiple criss-crossing cables.
